Dunnellon is one clean run up US 41, the same corridor as Morriston, and it is closer to the shop than Chiefland is. It sits in Marion County, which has grown faster than anywhere else around here since 2020.
Dunnellon is river country. Rainbow Springs State Park, home to a first-magnitude spring, sits on US 41 about three miles north of town, and the Rainbow River runs about 5.7 miles from the springs down to the Withlacoochee River. The park's tubing entrance is open from April through September. The drive to the shop goes right past the park entrance, north on US 41.
Boat ramps are hard on trucks in quiet ways. Backing a trailer down a wet ramp works the brakes and the transmission, and water finds its way into wiring and connectors. For the boat itself, the Audio & Marine side of the shop puts in head units, speakers, amps and lighting, and the truck that pulls it can be worked on in the next bay. Summer heat on the ride home is a fair test of the A/C, too.
