Ocala is horse country, and between the farms and the trucks and trailers that work them there is no shortage of things that need a lift kit, an engine or an A/C recharge. US 27 runs straight from Williston into Ocala as NW 10th Street. Marion County has grown 14 percent since 2020.
From Ocala the drive is US 27 northwest nearly the whole way, and the World Equestrian Center, a 378-acre show campus, sits just off that same highway on the northwest side of town. Between the show grounds and the horse farms along US 27, trucks pulling horse trailers are a normal sight on this stretch.
Hauling a loaded trailer is steady, heavy work for a truck. Transmission fluid runs hot, the brakes have a lot more weight to stop, and suspension parts wear under the load.
